“इक  शहंशाह ने बनवा के हसीं ताज-महल सारी दुनिया को मोहब्बत की निशानी दी है”…  शकील बदायूनी

“इक शहंशाह ने दौलत का सहारा ले कर हम ग़रीबों की मोहब्बत का उड़ाया है मज़ाक़”... साहिर लुधियानवी

For first time (at least what I remember) using a Hindi quote for sharing & first reason is the subject is total Desi & second reason is couldn’t find better words than these to express my feelings about the subject of sharing. Rather they are so perfect that entire sharing can be summed up in those two lines or say is enough to explain what I want to say but then these are the days where we don’t like the Doctor who doesn’t gives us any medicine & tells us just to follow a normal healthy lifestyle when we go to him for our health issues, right? Same way, people don’t like if a subject is explained in few lines, they need elaboration so be it! And then, the subject is exactly placed like above words which represents opposite sides of a coin, that too the words are by two stalwarts of not just Shayari but wrote our Bollywood’s golden era of melody by themselves i.e. Shakel Badyuni & Sahir Ludhiyanwi, Jay Ho! Ok, it is about “the Wedding” (do I still need to tell whose wedding?), of-course Ambani’s wedding & by now so much has been written (seen, is proper word, courtesy Instagram, FB) about it that most will choose to close this window but that will again flood more images of the wedding on your screen so better you read, lol!

Well, first the disclaimer, all names & images in this sharing are real life & you won’t find any similarity with anybody, as this is one & only one event neither anybody can afford to find similarity to do such things! Well, that was joke part, real disclaimer is with due respect to Ambani Parivar, the sharing is about society’s take on this wedding which they themselves have made public on media & nothing to shame or defame them as they have full right to celebrate their family event in the way they want & rather I admire their courage to do so, in compare to similar few recent events (read as weddings) of so called celebrities such as performing it at foreign destination & then selling images to OTT Platforms or Media, Amabanis’ didn’t do anything like that, so kudos to them! The sharing is about the debate over spending show on the wedding & media’s (read as people’s) take on that spending of showing as if there are people (read as celebrities) which are flaunting their images in designer ensembles on every possible media then there are many (mostly those who are not invited) who is expressing displeasure about the money show & how our country’s poor people are facing difficult times & here one family is spending crores of rupees on their enjoyment types comments! Well, first thing, Ambani has earned their money by their hard work & they deserve to spend it at their wish & way is a fact which nobody can deny or challenge, point is, is this right display of wealth (I am not saying good or bad)? And second point, I am no authority to decide or answer this question but I will like to analyse both aspects of the subject, that’s why this sharing! One more aspect I wanted to brain storm with myself as I regards personalities like Mukesh Ambani very highly as a businessman (again there can be differences) because of the sheer volume of the empire he created from what his father has left for him & that doesn’t mean I agree with his philosophy of doing business!

The day this marriage’s pre-weddings celebration started some six months back since that day social as well print media was full of sharing details of whose who has been invited, which artist has been called for performing (and at what fee), how the party locations has been decided, designer dresses for bride grooms & Mrs & Mr Mukesh & its costing & most important what must be the total spending Ambani’s have done for this whole event (sorry read as marriage)! Because our Indian curiosity is at its best when its guessing about some other person’s spending & when the event is so big & international then the curiosity also rises very high. As per some tabloids the total spending is supposedly Rs 3000 crore & even more because as per an Instagram post where Barati’s are dancing flashing their designer Swiss Audemars Piaget watch which costs nearly Rs 2 crore for one piece & such 200 watches has been gifted to selected Baratis’ i.e. Sharukh, Dhoni, Ranveer Sing etc; now, you can imagine the total spending from this analogy! At the same time right from PM of our Country to many business heads of MNC’s to Sports Stars & obviously movie Stars from all over the world have been invited. Business & Political fraternity I can understand would have come on their own but entertainment & sports celebrities must have charged for their appearances at least firangis (read as Hollywood)!

As I said its totally choice of the family (read as Mr Mukesh) to whom he should invite, yet my curiosity has few questions about this super show. 1.Why he has to make such an event of a family function & that too for this particular son’s marriage as there has been marriages earlier also of other siblings, why not such show then? 2.Why call all these peoples like Kardashians, what you wanted to show? 3.Why the entire event was orchestrated like a reality show, when or else Mr Mukesh is a low-profile person? 4.This question is to all the Super Stars which were dancing like they are dancing in their own family wedding, why you have to do this rather can you do this also, for money? Last question I can understand answer is for money & the great SRK himself has acknowledged a decade back that his face if for sale & if someone give him one crore rupee (this was a decade back) he will dance in anybody’s marriage & I am happy, he is still living by his words, though the price may be few digits of crore now but MSD & all, to attend gracefully is one thing, to make a show of your dancing skills is another, was my point , why?

About inviting all these paid faces from across the globe, the only logic seems, he wanted to show what money can do, is I can understand but then we all know that, so why now, may be even the humblest & wisest of the men feels like showing what they are capable of (even foolishness) once & this was one such time for Mr Ambani, is the only logic! About spending & controversy, I am very clear its his money & he is sole authority the way that money can be spend & indeed Ambani’s’ do make lots of charity yet these few thousand crores could have been used for strengthening livelihood of the farmers which are dying all across the country or could have been direct help to many poor patients waiting for treatment (recently a family of three did suicide in Nagpur due to inability to treat their cancer patient daughter & couldn’t see her in pain)& many such things in a country where billions don’t have a decent food for day. Right now, while I was writing this piece my building security watchman is waiting outside for loan of Rs 20,000 as his home is leaking due to rains & he doesn’t have money to repair the roof! Agreed, its not my fault or my official duty to help this watchman but while I know his condition, is it right for me to gift a Rado watch costing few lakh rupees to my friend who already has ten such watches just because I have that money & right to spend it, is the question I ask to myself & not to Mr.Ambani, on this occasion. Many people will have a stand that because Mr.Ambani spent so much for this event which in a way that money came in circulation & is a help to the economy itself. But my question is, the Rs 2 crore worth watch gift, money went to Swiss company & the watches will be in custody of the hands who already has such many watches to wear, so what kind of economy we are talking about! This is where right & wrong comes in to the picture as I do some charity, it may be big or small but does that give me right to spend on people who already has enough, is my question to not just Mr Ambani but all those who attended this event by accepting lavish gifts & big checks! On this background there is Mr Rahul Dravid, who refused to take the additional money as bonus which he got from BCCI for winning the T20 world cup & suggested it must be divided equally among all the support staff & for Rahul Dravid Rs 2.5 crore was not a small amount as he is retired now, this is right way to live is what I wanted to share!  Oh yes, in all the Insta posts, one post caught my attention most, in that post Mr. Anil Ambani (Younger brother of Mr. Mukesh) has seen entering the wedding venue & is neither accompanied by any escort or anybody at door to welcome him & that’s what failure does to you as a success has many followers, failure has none; once again the bitter fact of life I got to witness because of this wedding! To conclude, once again, nothing to offend Ambani Parivar, they did what they thought is right, just the way some Shahenshah built a monument for his love which one Shayar thinks is a gift to the entire world as Temple of Love while the other Shayar thinks is insult of all the lovers as they can’t afford to build such monument for their love; stay blessed newly-wed couple & so be our society!
