“We all know shortcuts & easy roads often take us to the wrong destination, yet most of us take them because we are destined to reach the wrong destination” … Me
NEET, TET & Lohagad, I am sure the first & last most of us know by now & the second term TET which is a link & not many knows about it because it’s not meant for not many! I am sure you must be frowning for such a Hitchcock type to start with names along with the sharing, so won’t stretch your patience because I am not Hitchcock & this subject is not my jonner! Yet I chose to write about it because (most will say FOMO) I was (read as I too was) intrigued by these three things & this writing is for close circle, I, Me & Myself (lol), ok more for my sons & my younger team, & you happened to be unfortunate souls with whom I share whatever I write, so be it (Disclaimer done)! Let’s start from reverse i.e. Lohgad, which is a historic fort in our State, built in 10th Century nearly thousand years back in Pune district near Lonavala. Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj captured it in 1648 AD, but he was forced to surrender it to the Mughals in 1665 AD by the Treaty of Purandar. Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj recaptured the fort in 1670 AD and used it for keeping his treasury. This fort was used to keep the winnings from Surat. Later in Peshwa time Nana Phadnavis used this fort for living for some time and built several structures in the fort. Now, truthfully tell me (you can DM/email me) how many knew this history about Lohagad, rather knew anything about Lohagad, till last week the infamous murder case surfaced? For those who are away from social media & newspapers too (lucky & rare), the fort came in news because a young bride pushed her soon to be groom from a cliff & he died, is what Police are claiming while the bride has said during a pre wedding photo shoot the groom fell down. Entire social media is abuzz with this incident at Lohgad & the spot from where the boy supposedly fell down has become a “Point” by the name of that girl like Sunset Point or Monkey Point, to get you the idea!
Now let’s go back (Like Marvel movies do, days of future past, lol) to NEET which is actually National Eligibility cum Entrance test conducted all over India for entering into Medical colleges & nearly twenty-five lakhs plus aspiring students appear for it from the country. This test was supposed to be conducted in April month & the preparations start right when most students are in eleventh std (thanks it’s not from higher school yet). And this year the exam got cancelled (re-conducted) because the paper got leaked. Many students went into depression because of cancelation of exam as they have prepared for two years & after giving exam when you feel relaxed but you come to know its waste & you have to reappear for the exam! Nearly twenty plus students attempted suicide because of this & a nationwide agitation/ protest going on though the damage is done! You will say, what’s its link with the Lohagad incident then just hold your patience a bit & we will go towards the second subject TET exam! As NEET is known to most people but TET i.e. Teachers Eligibility Test which is conducted for teacher fraternity at State level, & is an important examination for teachers’ for their promotion as we; increments & this exam is a scale of their skill level in their fields, which is teaching! This exam was supposed to be conducted on June 26 & here also the paper got leaked a day before exam day & the exam was postponed! This incidence of paper leak & cancellation of TET has left many teachers frustrated, depressed as it has delayed their career growth directly. On top of it stringent of norms have been applied for the TET exam givers (read as teachers), such as shoes were not allowed, no jackets or sweaters & all these precautions to restrict the teachers from copying! Well, I can understand taking precautions against copying with normal students but imagine govt itself thinks teachers also can copy & that too at a mass level & on top of it, the teacher's exam paper got leaked, isn’t this all going on a very dangerous track, is my subject of sharing!
In both these major exam’s paper leak, the surprising factor was both exams dealt with supposedly of not only the noblest professions i.e. Medical & Teaching but are directly responsible for health or say fitness of the entire society. If the doctors are supposed to keep the society physically fit then the teachers are supposed to be responsible for the mental fitness of the society, right? Rather, the role of the teacher’s is far more important as it deals with the fitness of the minds of young ones which later are going to be grown up in this society on which entire country’s burden is going to rest! When I say mentally fit then it’s not just about gaining knowledge & earning success in the form of money but it’s the teachers who are supposed to make the students understand terms like morale, character, values, respect as all these define or say builds the culture of our society, right? And if the teachers themselves are involved in copy or paper leak which are crimes in the eyes of the law & busy in building their career built on such footing, what kind of lessons they will be teaching to their students, have we thought that! And if in TET exam teachers are the culprit then in the NEET leak its majority of parents who themselves are doctor by education & profession have found guilty in buying the leaked paper at huge price, just to make their kid doctor at any cost & by any means! In both cases agreed, in every system there are some more greedy people who goes to any level to make money & I am not commenting on govt for its inability to stop such people but my main concern is who are the people who bought such leaked paper & the answer is they were teachers & doctors or educated, successful personalities from the society as they only can pay such high money! And that’s exactly the saddest, or dangerous aspect of the paper leaks as we are preparing our young generation to become criminals as we only are showing them wrong path of life by buying leaked paper for them & by allowing them to train under the teachers who themselves have become teacher by committing crime, is my subject of sharing!
At the same time, the parents buying leaked papers are in a way guiding, telling or making their kid believe in committing crime to succeed, instead of working hard or accepting to face the failure, is something we are ignoring! You are making criminals by pushing them on the path of life where you train them or help them to think that whatever they want they must get by using any method which can be even a crime in the eyes of the law & Lohagad incidence is outcome of this kind of our attitude, is my subject of sharing! And why just buying a leaked paper of some exam, every day I see parents especially mothers, carrying their kids on two-wheeler to school & blatantly jumping red signal or riding in wrong lane, just to save few minutes but what those kids must be thinking by observing the law breaking by his or her mom, we just don’t think! We do loose talks in front of kids who keenly observe & listen to us without we being aware of it & we boast ourselves how we cheated govt or managed our way out of some business mess by paying bribe, but our kids are thinking this is the way to life ahead, we don’t see other side of our so-called smartness! As every youngster, first, is not used to having a "No" for what he or she wishes & second, to convert that "No" into "Yes', that youngster doesn’t hesitate to take any path which can be of crime also, is what we witnessed in Lohagad case (till now)! I don't back or justify any crome as thats not done in any case, yet for developing such mentality of the youngsters, we as a society are more responsible as a criminal than the actual involved youngsters, are we ready to swallow this bitter truth, is the question I want to ask all of us, especially the trollers on social media! The Lohagd incidence is just “Tip of Iceberg”, right from Koyata Gang to road rage fights to drunk driving to even killing classmates or siblings, participation of youngsters (read as minors also) is alarmingly increasing in crime & the only reason is, we the grownups are silently pushing them on the track of crime by our own actions which we think is our smartness, is my subject of sharing! And then, we are losing fear of law which is very important to control or avoid as the best detection of crime is in avoiding it & that can be achieved only by creating fear of law in the mind of criminals as well in common people! How can some young boy or girl who is not even earning for themselves a dime think that they can kill someone & get away with it, how can they think crime is the simplest answer to their problems, is the question we all should ask to ourselves! Guys, in all above three incidences i.e. NEET paper leak, TET paper leak & Lohagad death, the common thread is crime & do mind it’s the first two which are actually foundation for the last crime, think & decide, adios with this warning!
